Cbank: Share of foreigners in Russia’s OFZ rises 0.7 pp May 21–Thu
MOSCOW, May 29 (PRIME) -- The share of Russia’s OFZ federal bonds placed on accounts of foreign depositories in the National Settlement Depository grew by 0.7 percentage points from May 21 through Thursday to 30.8%, the central bank said in a research note.
“Lower yields were registered at the near end of the curve, with maturity from 1 to 2 years, while there was growth at the far end. On average, the yield curve of OFZs grew by 2 basis points. The amount of investment of non-residents in OFZs on accounts of foreign depositories in the National Settlement Depository grew by 20 billion rubles, its share stood at 30.8% as of March 28,” the research note read.
Foreigners bought OFZs at the auctions and on the over-the-counter market. Average maturity of OFZs owned by foreigners stood at 7.4 years as of Thursday, the central bank said.
